Warning: Spoilers for Episode 3 of this adventure lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The latest chapter concluded with a major cliffhanger and presented the premier party of characters who will branch out from the main group to undertake their independent quest, apart from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor (brought to life by Travis), the agile character (Laura), the fierce warrior (the cast member), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
The Reason for Division
With a large ensemble, it was clear from the start that having everyone at a single group would be impossible.
This explains, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before splitting into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.
What Defines the Combat Party
Per the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven narrative style where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might seem out of place, but the events of the third episode show why these particular heroes are best suited for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the party has a clear idea where to go next after a intense first encounter with the antagonists.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose demise kicked off the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking Thimble, and taking all the powerful objects to auction.
The antagonist then cleared his liabilities and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each character has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, desires revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure knows Timmony and warns that it is a nasty location.
- Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead rescued him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could assist the party enter locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, Teor pledged a eternal obligation to Wicander for his salvation and will now follow him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are sought by the authorities that control Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The cleric defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the clan.
This means them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in pursuit of Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
According to the recent installment’s follow-up content, we discover that the warrior group will be absent the following episode, leaving the other eight players to assemble the Seekers and Planners parties.
Audiences can look forward to finding out which adventurers will be where in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
